Stalford Academy’s “Preparatory Course for Cambridge International Advanced Level Examination (12 Months)” aims to thoroughly prepare private candidates for the Cambridge International Advanced Level Examination, which is an internationally recognised qualification offered by Cambridge Assessment International Examination. Cambridge Assessment International Education is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5 to 19 year olds. It is a part of the University of Cambridge and is a not-for-profit organisation that devotes resources to delivering high-quality educational programmes that can unlock learners’ potential. Our 12-month preparatory programme is a fast-pace intensive programme that aims to prepare the student for the Cambridge International Advanced Level Examination in one year. Students will be equipped with the concrete knowledge and necessary intellectual skills in tackling the examinations. Students may also choose to take the exam at the Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary Level first before taking at the Cambridge International Advanced Level. The AS syllabus content is half a Cambridge International A Level. Please refer to Cambridge International’s website to understand more about the Cambridge International A Level qualification.
General Information
Course Duration: 12 months (Full-Time)
Course Delivery Method: Classroom Teaching
Lesson Hours: Mondays to Fridays, between 8am to 7pm (actual duration depends on the number of subjects taken)
Total Contact Hours: 864 contact hours for 12-month programme (English and 3 other A Level subjects package)
Lesson Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours per lesson

**A minimum number of 10 students enrolling in the subject are required before the subject is offered.
Admission Pre-requisites
Local Students
Applicants must:
Be above 15 years of age as of 1st January of the year of enrolment
Have successfully completed Secondary School and obtained GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent
Have obtained a pass in English at GCE O level
International Students
Applicants must:
Be above 15 years of age as of 1st January of the year of enrolment
Have successfully completed Senior Middle 1 or Grade 10 or its equivalent
Have obtained a pass in English at Senior Middle 1 or Grade 10 or its equivalent

Mode of Assessment
1. Internal Assessment – all internal assessments will be in the form of written papers
For the 12-month programme, 4 Examinations will be conducted.
2. External Assessment – Cambridge International A Level Examination
a. Cambridge International AS & A Level Examination is conducted twice a year, in June and November.
b. Exam registration schedule for private candidates is in early January (for Jun exam) and early July (for Nov exam).
c. Some subjects may be available only once a year, e.g. Chinese and Chinese Language.
d. Students will sit for a preliminary examination at Stalford Academy in preparation for the actual A Level examinations.
Requirements for Completion of Course
1. Local Students (Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents) and LTVP and DP holders must achieve at least 75% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
2. International Students (Student’s Pass holders) must achieve at least 90% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
