Stalford Academy’s ‘A’ Levels preparatory course aims to thoroughly prepare private candidates for the GCE ‘A’ Level Examinations, which are national level assessments jointly organized and conducted by the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the Univesity of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicates.

In this preparatory program, students will be equipped with the concrete knowledge and necessary intellectual skills in tackling the examinations. If you are keen on achieving the key to smooth progress into tertiary education, be sure that this is the right preparatory program for you.

Course Duration: 12 months (Full-Time) or 24 months (Full-Time)
Course Delivery Method: Classroom Teaching
Lesson Hours: Mondays to Fridays, between 8am to 7pm (actual duration depends on the number of subjects taken)
Total Contact Hours: 1080 contact hours for 12-month programme (3-H2 and 2-H1 subject package)
2,160 contact hours for 24-month programme (3-H2 and 2-H1 subject package)
Lesson Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours per lesson

**A minimum number of 10 students enrolling in the subject are required before the subject is offered.

Admission Pre-requisites

Local Students (12/24-month programme)
Applicants must:
Be above 17 years of age as of 1st January of the year of enrolment
Have successfully completed Secondary School , obtained GCE ‘O’ level certificate or its equivalent

International Students (12-month programme)
Applicants must:
Be above 17 years of age as of 1st January of the year of enrolment
Have successfully completed Senior Middle 3 or Grade 12 or its equivalent
Have obtained a pass in English (i.e. 50% of total mark at current high school)

International Students (24-month programme)
Applicants must:
Be above 16 years of age as of 1st January of the year of enrolment
Have successfully completed Senior Middle 2 or Grade 11 or its equivalent
Have obtained a pass in English (i.e. 50% of total mark at current high school)

Mode of Assessment

1. Internal Assessment – all internal assessments will be in the form of written papers
a. For the 12-month programme, 4 Examinations will be conducted.
b. For the 24-month programme, 8 Examinations will be conducted.

2. External Assessment – GCE ‘A’ Level Examination [www.seab.gov.sg]
a. Registration for GCE ‘A’ Level Examination is in March
b. Examinations for all subjects (except for Chinese Language) will be held in November.
c. Students will sit for a preliminary examination at Stalford Academy in preparation for the actual ‘A’ Level examinations.

Requirements for Completion of Course

1. Local Students (Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents) and Dependent’s Pass holders must achieve at least 75% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
2. International Students (Student’s Pass holders) must achieve at least 90% attendance and not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reasons.
